Thanks! I plan to post about the beach trip a little later today, but I’ll give you a general update now. Things are going really great relationship-wise!

This will sound like I’m some young kid, but I’m head of heels in love, and L is, too. I didn’t have some internal monolog where I promised myself I’d never be like this again, but I think I was pretty resigned to keeping my guard up with whomever I was in a relationship with.

Things lightened up after a little while. Not completely relaxed, but not really tense. We don’t have wild parties, but we have been known to have a little too much to drink at times. The Beach Trip

To keep the timeline straight, this happened towards the end of the summer in 2020. L and I were well past the initial days of our relationship and were close at this point. She was still coming over almost every day, with a few exceptions, even though she didn’t have classes scheduled over the summer. When the time finally rolled around, E showed up around 7 in my sister in laws minivan with her two girlfriends. The girls looked great when we headed out for dinner, but it was for nothing. Restaurants were still pretty locked down and finding a table for 5 meant that we would have to wait a couple of hours since they were at partial capacity.
