Depends on the booth.

With BARE, their line up of players is normally decided in advance for safety reasons. Inexperienced rope bottoms don't always know their limits, and that's not a good variable in a performance setting like BARE at Folsom.

As for the majority of Play Space Booths (SoJ, Citadel, etc.) there is a kind of alternating flow. The booth doms often have a first player/partner whom is experienced and has played with them before arranged beforehand for a better introduction show to peak the audiences interest. Then once that first scene is done, they will offer the chance to experience it to the audience.

Folsom Street Fair isn't a parade of any sort. I went to FSF this year and didn't see any kids at all. As far as I know its for adults only. Are you sure you aren't confusing this with a pride parade?

There are no kids there. It's not a residential street (although there are some apartments) and the entrances are blocked off. I don't know if they can legally exclude children that are with their parents (it is a public place) but I think they can exclude unaccompanied kids and can warn parents.

I've seen teenagers that looked a little young, but I've never seen kids there.
