Good news that the Brighton and London rides are on different weekends this time. It was always a bit of struggle getting to Brighton bright and early the day after covering the hectic London event.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Brighton starts from The Level this year, rather than Preston Park. Not sure why, or if it'll make any difference.

24-105 for overall covering the event, 70-200 for those "intimate" shots. I'm on the other side of the pond but for me would be the 60mm 35-80 and the 70mm 100-400. Good luck looking forward to your photos! ;)

Maybe Southampton.

Best rides will probably be IMHO;

London,
Brighton,
Manchester,
Bristol,
York,
Cardiff.

I will try and do London, Bristol, Brighton. Would love to do York but it's a question of cash. The others are too much of a cock-fest and don't past the cost benefit analysis.

Is Cardiff likely to be a cockfest? Was thinking of doing it but that doesnt sound promising.

There's a naked bike ride in York? Is this the first one? I have only just moved away and knew nothing of it? I'd have definitely gone down. How do I get details?

Fascinating. I moved out of the area (not quite actually since I hail from somewhere closer to Leeds) two decades ago.

Just got one short clip of last year's ride: hxxp://vimeo.com/70745859
Proving we did have nice babes turning up then. Maybe sometime, it'd be my turn to pay grandmum (oh dear) a visit

I cannot speak from personal experience, but I know other senior members have commented that if you take part in the ride/nudity yourself then other participants are less put off by photo taking.

Weather for Portsmouth looks crap, heavy showers and 15C at best. Looks like it will be the usual cockfest again:mad:

Pedro the Fisherman 05-23-2014 11:24 AM

Quick weather update for Portsmouth tomorrow......totally SHIT weather is the forecast.

Heavy rain, 13C and windy too! I feel sorry for the organizers, as they have been made to work really hard by the local council and police to let the ride go ahead.

On the positive side, Portsmouth has had 3 sunny and hot rides in past years, just as Brighton has had wet/cold and iffy over the same period. Perhaps Brighton might get lucky this year!

If you are naked AND young (i.e. you look like everyone else riding) you can get by taking pics with a cell or other small camera. I don't think anyone will hassle you. But a large DSLR - even if you are naked and young I could see some problems. Not as likely as if you are old and clothed, but still, be very cautious.

But it will be dark once the ride begins, so consider that also.

Actually though, last year some larger cameras were about at the art museum. It seems that lately, group pics are becoming more common at the front end of the ride, and some picture taking seems to be tolerated. But that applies to the posed exhibitionists more than the regular riders.

Good luck. I hope to be there, and the Portland women suit me fine :)

Videos From Riders...

.. I've seen a number of videos from people riding. Hasn't anyone thought to mount their camera on the BACK of the bike? The view would be so much better, don't ya think? :)

At Fremont, I have seen tandem bikes or hybrid vehicles where a second guy is pointing a camera backwards. I wouldn't try it alone though because I'd have little assurance that the camera was pointed right.

I've been thinking about riding the Fremont parade this year but doing it with the idea of getting out in front of the pack, stopping here and there to shoot backwards (not while moving) and otherwise high tailing it down to Gaswork Park ahead of everyone else (tricky but if the pack is riding slow and circling you can maybe continue to work your way back to the front). Then when I get to Gaswork, I ditch the bike, turn around, and take the rest of my shots. But I doubt I'll try and shoot while moving.

Riding as opposed to driving your car like a crazy man to cover both the front and back ends of a ride can be good logistics. With many WNBR's, the actual route and end point is not really known to anyone but the riders. And in fact, while the nighttime Portland WNBR seems best covered by spectators, the best daytime WNBR pics often seem to come from other riders. With the smaller rides, fellow riders can do better than spectators because they can stay close to everyone throughout and thus take multiple close ups of the few (often under 5) female riders taking part.

NYC WNBR Emulating Portland With Evening Ride ????

According to information posted on both Twitter and Facebook, organizers are planning a "clothing optional" ride "in solidarity with the WNBR" in New York City on Friday evening June 13, That's the night before most of the international WNBR rides, and there's, so far, been no mention online of an "official" WNBR in NYC on that Saturday.

The new evening ride is being promoted as "Bare as You Dare" and "clothing optional" probably to encourage more participants, who might not want to be associated with something with "naked" in the brand name.

As an after work, Friday Night Happy Hour, event in a city with millions of young singles such a ride might draw large numbers of riders and spectators before they head for home at the end of a work week.

It should be noted that New York City has a new administration this year, with a much more liberal mayor. Also new this year are widely available Citibikes, which can easily be rented. They are similar to the Boris, or Barclay's bikes in London. And New York has miles and miles of dedicated bike lanes.

Unfortunately, the NYC WNBR has, most years, offered a few dozen riders who appear to be mostly counterculture types, with a few guys and a couple of very brave women willing to risk an encounter with the NYPD by riding fully nude in the city. However, it should also be noted that in NYC it is ALWAYS Legal for women to walk around or ride a bike completely topless. So a fully legal ride full of babes wearing just bikini bottoms is much better than no babes at all. And the first few hours, from 6-pm until 10-pm, should offer enough daylight, at this time of year, for pictures.

The new ride will also start over the bridge in Brooklyn, and likely cross the river and into Manhattan. The downtown financial district is still pretty active on Friday nights in summer, but very quiet the rest of the weekend. It will also be interesting to see if the ride ventures up to Midtown, Central Park,Times Square, 5th Avenue etc. which are always very active. A few years ago they rode all the way to Columbus Circle through a busy Midtown on a Saturday afternoon, and they also had an escort of motor scooter police watching their every move. It has appeared that the police were less vigilant when they rode through neighborhood streets in Brooklyn, or an almost empty Downtown Manhattan on a Saturday afternoon. It will be interesting to see how the new ride goes, and, hopefully there will also be a daylight WNBR in NYC the next day.

If the night ride is anywhere near as popular as Portland, this could be the start of something really BIG !!!

This is a good reason to avoid the rides, however even if you are still tempted the main reason to avoid this ride is that the participants are mainly old blokes with their cocks out!

I have high hopes for Hastings, they have a reasonable (and legal) photography policy, asking people to observe etiquette and not to harass riders. Something that is common sense anyway.

Think he's likely to be disappointed by the police response, to be honest.

I was thinking about brining a larger camera (a Sony NEX-5N) though. What precautions do you think I should take? Also, I have a flash on the camera, but never used it before and am not sure if it will drain the battery.

I don't have any experience with photographing WNBRs, but I do know something about photography, and the NEX series in particular. I wouldn't worry about the size of the NEX-5N; even with the kinda-bulky 18-55mm lens, it's on the larger end of "small cameras", in my opinion. Probably not the kind of thing that will get anybody worried. But more importantly, the low-light performance is absolutely amazing. If you set the ISO to 12800 or 25600, streetlit photos can be clear as day. The higher the ISO, the grainier the picture, of course, so you'd want to test it out beforehand to be sure, and probably bring the flash along in case you want it in the darker areas. But if you can take clear photos without drawing the attention a flash draws, it might be very well worth it, and that's a great camera to pull it off. Using the flash would probably run down your battery twice as fast as not, but the battery life starts out so good that I'd be surprised if it ran out on you from flash photography, unless you're bold enough to take 100+ shots w/flash.

I'll try to go and see if I can snap something for you fine people. But last year it was very few chicks and topless only, at least in Barcelona.

So if you're in the area, spread the word!

Brighton UK

Hi

Anybody else going to be at Brighton this year (only a week and a bit away now).
If the weather holds I will be there but looking for help getting pics of me naked with clothed females, not that they will think much of my big belly and puny cock but a man wants what a man wants!

I just like my women more fit/slender and with bigger tits and nicer asses (don't we all?), like my wife who is SIGNIFICANTLY hotter than the female friend who will be attending with me. To each their own though, my friend may fit some guys tastes here. I guess I'll find out what you guys think if all goes according to plan. Wish me luck.

PM

Honestly, her attractiveness level isn't a huge issue for me. I just find something really sexy about the situation of one's platonic female friend being naked in front of them. Even better that it'll be out in public. Hopefully, you can get her to do some nice, fun poses for you. Hands on hips and smiling (my favorite) or something like this would be great to see.

Thanks

The weather for Hastings is not too bad, at the moment, however their FB event page shows only one female as a 'maybe' and about 12 blokes, mostly regulars. In my past experience, it takes numbers (100+) to make younger females feel safe enough to join in. I hope I'm wrong!
Brighton now has about 400 FB riders, with loads of female students joining over the past couple of weeks. Weather is the key to a good nude turnout, however. I will be there, if it is fine and over 16c!

The best advice I can give is to ride a bike, ideally naked or semi naked and you can snap away to your hearts content and almost never get a refusal when asking for a photo!:p

ncis_uk 05-30-2014 07:16 PM

When I snap away on the Beach at the end of the Brighton ride I'm naked myself so get a free reign of pic taking.

The weather in southern UK is pretty good for the hastings ride, hoping 27cows gets some good shots, as FB now shows a handful of very cute young ladies going!

The long range weather for London and Brighton next weekend is now saying 22-28 c next weekend, hope they get that right and a bumper crop of ladies turn out and strip off, cool rides effect numbers more than weather itself.

Also, please do not post active YouTube links. Please remove "http://www." from the link before posting. Posting active YouTube links allows the uploader to see that their video has been linked on a porn forum, which may cause them to remove the video from YouTube or request the link's removal here. Hello, I've been telling this for years. They're a well documented bunch who pretty much fail to understand the point of these rides - can recall one moustached bloke, a fully clothed seasoned rider for all the wrong reasons of course, who almost never misses London and Brighton. I very much guess that's go to do with the ultimate purpose of cosying up to female riders (does he ever get punched?) and snapping a few hundred pics (close range too!) by my estimates. Got this account to share with you. Very harsh but true. :(

If something's got to cheer me up, it's the unparalleled degree of freedom that London could offer ladies of Indian origin... three effortlessly rode topless and two fully nude last June, something to give loads of credits and guts for being there unlike their pathetic (a minority) male counterparts. From what I've gleaned from insider sources, this mark will be bettered next week for the decennial.

The Brighton WNBR Facebook event page is currently at 508 confirmed riders, a record as far as I can remember (mostly young riders) and the weekend is going to be WARM (20-22C), keep your fingers crossed that the weather site (all three main ones in agreement at the moment) get it right and we could have a bumper crop of photos and videos!

Yep, the attendee numbers on the Brighton Facebook page has been rocketing up over the past week or so! So much so that I've decided to ride (my first WNBR)…. seems the best (and, to be honest, most fun) way to get some pictures will be to take part!

Yes 'andy', it's the best way to get shots IMHO, specially at the rest stops and beach:):).

You will be accepted and unlikely to be refused a request for a shot (indeed I have had some nice poses in the past) when you ask. It's also a really fun event too. I hope to be there, but will not be certain until the weekend itself.
