this is a great thread
however i'm clueless with the culture aspect. Do women just bath nude openly, even if theirs men around?
Out in the open theirs no real privacy .

None the less its pretty awesome .

Burmese girls are very modest and rarely expose themselves when bathing in public. This young lady shows how it is done as she first bathes in a sarong and then puts on a dry sarong without exposing herself.

Yes this is what i said. When i toured india ages back, i heard of this, and visited the village even. in those rivers, most women bath mostly naked, might be just a strand of silk or cotton towel wrapping them. I didnt carry my camera, but i still remember how that place was unique in entire india that i heard about.

Nope. Most city folks make the trip to take a dip in the holy river on religious days during festivities like "Kumbh Mela".

Many locations (like Haridwar/Rishikesh/Allahabad) along the river Ganges, Pushkar Lake and the monkey temple of Galtaji in Rajasthan are what comes to the top of my mind - just to name a few.

Voyeurism was not that rampant (guys risk getting a really good beating for any obscene and lewd gestures or looks). The casual tourist used to take a few pics that ended up in archives. Access to the internet and availability of camera phones have fueled the availability of such material abundantly in the past few years

Been there and perved that (was too chicken to attempt any risk by taking pictures) ;)

Excellent insight. Indeed India is a voyeur's paradise. I know there is no culture of nudity but there is no inhibition either abt female nudity.
