Re # 10 ... Before digital retouching ....
...there was ' Dodge' and ' burn' . Any old guys like me who did any work with B&W in a regular darkroom would remember using shadows of small objects held over areas on the print you wanted lighter and cards with small holes in them to 'burn' in areas you wanted darker .
One could 'dodge' out dark pubic hair and burn in detail that really wasn't there with practice ... and a heap of spoiled prints in the garbage ... $$$$ . |
