I downloaded the codec x but keep getting the message that a suitable decompressor could not be found. Suggestions...

Have you tried using Quicktime? That's what works for me.

quicktime, real player nor windows media player will work for me. suggestions?

This is pretty much my stock answer for all video playback questions.

My best advice is to make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player.

For some files on the forum, you may also need the DivX codec and Player.
