In the early days of the net what made things good was that we got to decide what content we wanted to consume. Today, however, the internet is becoming more and more controlled by corporations (for better or worse). It almost feels like we are going back to the 90s where large media networks controlled everything we see and hear.

Add governments, or at least some of their members, wanting to make all the internet family / child friendly too.
