Fantasy Fest 2015

Any advice on where to stay? Clothing optional hotels, beaches, parties?

Best place to stay is to rent a house with friends. Many of the rental houses are in Truman Annex (susie@keywestkey.com), which I find too inconvenient. Many have private pools, but with little privacy. Preferred Properties has more upscale homes for rent. A house rental for the week can run from $3,000 for a 2 bedroom to $10,000 for a 5 bedroom in a prime location.

You want to be close to Duval St, but not on it. La Concha is way too expensive, and the other places are dumps.
If you need a hotel, the Hyatt on Front St. is pretty convenient and reasonable (but not CO). Lighthouse Court is fine. The Gardens is a bit pricey, but well located.

Best bar to hang out is Captain Tony's on Greene St.
Best parties: Fetish night at Kelly's on Monday; the Fetish party at 801 Duval on Wed; and the Bourbon St Pub on Thurs. (You don't have to be really kinky for the fetish parties - just wear a bit of leather and have normal fun).

The Friday afternoon parade is relatively family friendly, and lots of fun.

The big parade Sat. night is more fun to walk in than watch (IMHO). If this is your first FF, pay the $100 or so per person for a decent viewing spot on Duval St., else get there really early. Or avoid the crowds on Duval St and head down to Southard St where the parade begins.

As far as having some fun exposing the wife, opportunities will abound. Just be careful on the street. Pubes must be covered in public. In the bars and parties, anything goes. Capt. Tony's little dungeon has been getting very busy.
Avoid "The Garden of Eden" (the nude bar on the roof at Caroline & Duval, above the Bull). If you so much as touch your wife's tits, security will be hassling you.

Wow DrDavenport that's a lot of good info - thanks

We're a couple from CA and this will be our first FF. Unfortunately, due to distance, time away, and cost, friends are staying home. Planning 5 nights (M-F), no car, light luggage, just quick getaway.

Of the places mentioned which would be good (relatively) inexpensive lodging for a couple?

I would try the Hyatt first. Book soon.
If the Hyatt is full, then use your favorite travel site. Do NOT stay at any of the hotels on the beach near the airport. Way too inconvenient.
You want to be as far north as you can on Whitehead or Simonton. No further south than Truman Ave. We stayed on Truman a long time ago. Really long walk to Old Town center.

Have fun!

ps. Best restaurant in Key West is Sarabeth's at 530 Simonton at Southard.

Tell Susie what you want she'll help
been using her for years

I'll second that, call Susie, she can book any place in KW and knows how to find the right place for your wants and budget. It costs nothing to use her and can save you a lot of stress.

Look at Google maps, try to stay no further than about 3 blocks from the HOT zone which is Duval St from Caroline to Greene.

Thanks to all the great suggestions. Hope to see you all at FF2015

Who else is going?

buckeyeforever 06-11-2015 10:32 AM

We will be there from 10/16 to 10/26. We go down to KW 2-3 times per year for about 2 weeks each time. We are thinking of moving there by the end of the year!

I definitely don't want to bother anyone in KW that works there, soooo, is it too late to book? I know the prices go up the closer it gets but my husband can't commit for another few weeks due to work. I want to go for all of the fun, but not sure if I've waited too late. Thanks in advance and I love all the ladies here crazy enough to post!

Contact Susie at http://www.keywestkey.com/ Most of her places are in Truman Annex, which is OK for first timers.
Better (& pricier) rentals at http://www.preferredpropertieskeywest/

Do NOT stay near the airport near the beach. Way too far away. You want to be near Old Town, but not right on Duval St..
