Great thread, enjoy reading the various comments and perspectives. I have always wondered about this too, so I find this great conversation. As for my wife, we have had this very discussion a few times. Let me say that early on after we were first married, my wife was somewhat prudish. At first she was hesitant to remove her top in public, but once I convinced her to give it a try she now is very comfortable doing so. Since we have frequented many topless and/ or nude resorts. Her opinion was (is) that it is a comfort thing for her. She does not like being the only female on the beach or at the pool that is topless. Guess it is a "center of attention" thing for her. If other women are topless, she is perfectly comfortable with it. But to confuse me, she also says that sometimes she loves to show her body off, and enjoys the stares and attention that she gets. So go figure???? I would think being the only one would satisfy this urge in her nicely. And by the way, she is still firm and well built, so it is not an embarrassment thing about her body. All I know is that I always love it when she removes her top in front of others!:D

I think you missed the gist of this thread. Multiple girls, some clothed, some topless

I think it has alot to do with their levels of self confidence. That's why you see some pictures of younger women, and some of women who are in their 60's or beyond, and some who are in between. Same with women who are thin, in between, or heavy. It's their self confidence in how they feel they look.

What I've found is that most women change as they get older. Some girls I know who thought nothing about being topless in their teens and early twenties wouldnt dare do it now they are in their thirties. Others who were shy and retiring in their teens are much more comfortable with going topless. Now they are older. From my own experience as I've said in another post a few years back my wife her sister and my wife's best friend all went topless on holiday in front of us on holiday. None of them would even consider it now. Gutted.

At an early age I convinced my wife to first flash then go topless. The going nude just seemed to happen later. Remember here in the states there are only a few places where people can legally go nude. Even on secluded beaches most make such a big issue of a topless woman.
After my wife felt comfortable on semi secluded beaches and saw how men go crazy over tits she started doing it more as a tease. We've been to many nudist parks and now nude beaches. She's first in our group to be nude by the time we reach the nude beach signs.
I have a problem getting her to cover up nearly anyplace we go. After 57+ years it's natural.
It's a game flashing and going topless where people least expect it. Of course bike events and Mardi Gras pretty much keep her flashing.
Anyone who's been to the southern most point in Florida knows there are always tourists taking pictures, even if you don't see them in the photos.
