I've been at the Univerity, worked in research at the University, have many friends at the University. I've never met anyone with a doctorate, or even with just a masters, who worked at the University and wasn't required to publish. It's publish or perish in fact. Peer reviewed journals - very demanding writing! I'm not talking about just one university either, I mean all of them. You do not even know what goes on at a University, much less hold a doctorate, so move your story over to the fiction section where it belongs, but add some punctuation before you do that.
