I’ve found an even better way to get the biggest-sized photos from flickXr.

Using the 2 versions of the photo below as an example, using the tetrak74 1.0 method of opening View Page Source, then finding the hotlinked photo listed after the hotlinked n.jpg photo, we get:

This is a decent size, 1290 x 725 pixels.

However, if we select a few more occurrences of n.jpg, we get to a list where all the sizes of the photo are listed. They’re listed from the smaller – s.jpg, m.jpg – to the larger – b.jpg, h.jpg, k.jpg, and sometimes o.jpg. To the left of the file names, the width and height for each file is listed.

These file names aren’t hotlinked. You’ll need to manually copy them, then edit the file name listed on View Page Source.

For this photo, the largest size listed is k.jpg. On View Page Source, it’s listed as:

c1.staticflickr.com\/9\/8487\/8224590032_dc1750c3b8_k.jpg

Note that the last block of the k.jpg name is different from the h.jpg name above.

If you simply replace h.jpg with k.jpg:

You don’t get a bigger photo, you get a “file not found”.

Back to the k.jpg version. The \/ parts don’t look good. Simply delete each back slash “\” and keep each forward slash “/”. After this edit, you get:

For this photo, it’s not a huge difference, going from h.jpg to k.jpg. I wanted to use a safe example. You’ll get bigger contrasts elsewhere. For my preceding Mexico City posts, tetrak74 1.0 would have gotten c.jpg sized pics, around 500x700 pixels. tetrak74 2.0 got the bigger k.jpg sized pics, 2048x1520 pixels. Especially for newer photos, 2.0 will get you the much sought-after o.jpgs, 4000x3000 pixels and up.

I know that many OCCers use add-ons/apps that do this and a lot more. That’s great. The one thing about this method is that you can do it directly from flickXr itself.

Anyway - WOW! I'm extremely impressed. They might have held this on Fremont day, though. But anyway, you are looking at the best daytime WNBR on the west coast here! Seriously, looks like several hundred (200 or more) and lots of young women. I had never given this ride serious thought, but it would be great to attend. And if this is Bellinghams biggest ride yet, it just shows you that at least in some locations, the WNBR is getting better each year.

ITs not a great vid, but you get the idea - mainly, its a big ride....to top Seattle, San Francisco, and all of the other major west coast cities is no mean feat. Kudos to the organizers and its maybe like the Brighton vs London phemonemon. People maybe feel a little more relaxed knowing that the big crowds and photogs are looking elsewhere.

EDIT: the ride was Jun 6th. 120 people rode last year and it looks like 200 or more this year - definately a ride to watch!!

And especially a small little dreadlocks shooter that is there every year.. to name a few? and still we never quite
seem to see all of these great snaps people are taking? Life's to short to be selfish boys - Share & Share Alike! :D

Some new original ones from me... these girls were cute and friendly (they were American i think), i think they kept their knickers on the whole ride but they've got lovely tits so i'll forgive them :)

Apologies if this has been asked and answered ...

For years now I've used the excellent "Flickr Finder" tool which returns the photo web address and creating Flickr user name from the filename of a Flickr photo.

It used to be hxxp://delarge.co.uk/gallery/tools/finder/

It's suddenly vanished :(

Does anyone know where it's gone ... or if there's another similar web resource out there :confused:

That's a damn shame. :( There is another site, but it's not working either. I get an error message that says "SSL is required", whatever that means. Luckily, there is still a way to find Flickr albums through the file name. Just add the file name after this URL and you'll be taken right to the picture:

Not as convenient as using one of those sites would be, but at least it works.
