Here's two local TV news clips talking about it. Apparently the volunteer organizers ran out of time to find replacements to take over for them. It's such a huge event that blocks off roads for so long, they must have to start getting approval from the police or parks department or streets department pretty far in advance.

Nothing "interesting" because it's TV news, but it's kind of funny to see two different middle-aged male anchors and their female co-anchors openly talking about it like their audience is disappointed it's not happening, because Portland is so used to it. Like it's a normal kind of weird to them.
