Well this is an old trick TV trick that comes very close to the definition of "costume underwear"--- full coverage panties worn OVER pantyhose--- the illusion that you're seeing something illicit when you're really not.

So I guess the argument that could be made is that the girl is not REALLY showing her undies-- that's concealed under the "costume underwear"...

You saw a lot of this on television back in the day-- Three's Company", a few times on "Laverne & Shirley", the old "Logan's Run tv show..."Star Trek" TOS of course. ... and we still see it used today.

They did it in movies, too. Susan Sarandon wore pantyhose under her panties in most of her scenes in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Carrie Fisher wore pantyhose in Under The Rainbow (and they weren't even invented in the 1930's). And Heather Thomas wore a full body stocking under her bra and panties in Zapped!

The Star Trek director should have apologized for making that entire film. The Alice Eve underwear scene was the only good thing in it. The nudity in Return of the Living Dead made Linnea Quigley's career, and we didn't even know she wore a modesty patch. Everyone thought she'd shaved off all of her pubic hair, which was unheard of at the time. The Barbara Crampton Reanimator full frontal scene was incredible. I saw that film when it first came out, and the entire theater gasped when they put the severed head between her legs. Barbara Crampton sarcastically refers to that as "her mother's favorite scene".
The actor who played the severed head caught flak from his wife over it, too. According to Barbara Crampton, she turned to him during the screening and said with disgust "How could you?" They sure don't make 'em like that anymore.

Re-Animator with Jeffery Combs and Barbara Crampton-- a true classic. Combs is an under rated actor who deserves more credit that he usually receives. Sort of like Andrew Robinson. And Crampton was lovely. I also liked her in "From Beyond" (1986) and also starring Combs as well as Ken Foree of "Dawn of the Dead" fame.

Let me ask you...do you remember a Canadian film from the early 80's (?) based maybe on a Lovecraft story as well-- it was about a low level hospital tech who discovers the work of a dead scientist and gets mental powers. However, there's a catch-- his brain become so developed that it actually leaves his skull in the end and grows stalks to get around. I can't remember the title or actors.

I thought it was 1979's "The Demon" but that's another film-- one with some great undie and nudity footage BTW

Thx.

Barbara Crampton is still lovely. Here's a photo of her at 60. Sorry, don't know the name of the film you mentioned. What are the underwear scenes in The Demon? I don't think I've ever seen that one.

"The Demon" (1979) was a South African (!) production I think.

AKA "Midnight Caller"

It stars Cameron Mitchell and a bleached blond Jennifer Holmes. Typical Halloween rip off that doesn't even try to explain who the evil psycho is or why he is bent on killing people...

Jennifer Holmes is in her house (so Holmes is home so to speak) and wearing a bathrobe and panties when evil guy shows up. She fights him off and runs upstairs and decides to hide in the attic, because that's what almost naked chicks do when being stalked in the 70's I guess. Not complaining, though.

As she climbs up, her robe gets caught and drops to the floor. Oopsie. Now she's in the attic in just her white panties but it's kinda dark and hard to see.

She tries to climb up through the roof but evil guy hears her and runs to the attic. We see breasts as our girl tries to climb through the hole. He grabs her, pulls her back, and then they both fall through the ceiling. Holmes runs in to the bathroom still in just her underpants...because when you have a head start on the killer, it's better to run in to the upstairs bathroom with no exit instead of down the stairs and out of the house...

I have the DVD but it's very old and my DVD player attached to my IMAC won't play it-- so I can't get the best screen grabs. The film is available on YouTube if you want to check it out:

youtube.com/watch?v=f8r1lyoLivs

Two scenes of interest: at the 1hr. 3 minute mark and the 1hr. 25 minute mark.

Jennifer Holmes is 67 now and still around. Most of her credits as an actor are from the 80's. She appeared in a lot of TV shows like The Fall Guy, Misfits of Science, Webster, and Knight Rider. And I'm sure there's gotta be a TJ Hooker episode in there somewhere, because why not?

Screen grabs are not very good-- low quality captures from YouTube.

Thanks but that's not it. It does sound like it though.

"From Beyond" is not a bad flick.

That reminds me, wasn't there a TJ Hooker episode where Shatner's toupee leaves his skull, and grows stalks to get around, too?

I never saw this one, before. Thanks for pointing it out. The girl looks very familiar. I probably saw her in multiple TV shows, and just never realized it.

Amy Acker EUF, from the film; Let's Kill Ward's Wife. Amy was one of the prettiest of the Buffy/Angel girls. He may be a total scumbag, but Joss Wheadon has a good eye for beautiful women.
