When exactly was the term MILF first coined? If you research it online, they say it was in use as far back as the early 80's, but it must have been a regional thing because I certainly never heard it. The same goes for the term Cougar. Never heard that one until fairly recently. A good looking older woman was called, well...a good looking older woman. Occasionally, a "Mrs. Robinson" reference may have been made. Does anyone actually remember the terms MILF or Cougar prior to the 1990's?

In the U.S., I always thought it was credited to that movie American Pie (1999), where one of the characters referred to another guy's mom as a "MILF" and explained it... from there it went into common slang usage.

Yes, that was what I thought, too. Apparently, the term was around for more than a decade before that film came out...at least according to what passes for research on the internet.

And the term Cougar? Never heard that one until just a few years ago.

Some MILFs. It seems to be a catch-all term these days. Any older woman is referred to as a MILF, even if she's not actually an M...and you really wouldn't LF her. These women may or may not be M's, but I'd definitely LF them (some are from other threads).
