It's Rena Björnsson - I think the pictures were taken during a pageant at Olive Dell in 1966. I believe these were taken at the same competion (Rena's wearing the same shoes).

Continuing the theme of grouping together the Treehouse Pageants in some sort of order...

I believe that the first pageant held by the new owner (Bill Flesher) after taking over the Oakdale club in October 1972 was Miss Nude USA. This was probably held in June 1973 and was won by Barbara Winters (credit Jennysathome).

You may notice in the first picture that Bill had already started refurbishing the place... by slapping a clock over the Oakdale sign by the pool (so this must be the first pageant under the Treehouse name). Also that contestant number 2 (last picture) was Debby Stenseifer/Taylor who must have had a season ticket because she appears in two other pageants during the year. Pictures of a few of the contestants to follow.

Contestants 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13 (Barbara Taylor - the Winner) and 15. Sorry if these have all been posted before, but (apart from the ones in Jennysathome's post #599) I haven't seen any others - if anyone has any more from this pageant, it would be great to see them.

Treehouse also held a Miss Nude Rodeo pageant in September 1973.
I’m pretty sure about this date because when the name was trademarked (in 1976), the “First Use Anywhere Date” is given as 22 Sep 1973 (link: https://trademarks.justia.com/730/90...-73090454.html)
Debby Steinseifer/Taylor presented the prizes as reining Miss Nude International, so that competition must have also been held sometime earlier in the year.

My guess is that the pictures below are from that competition. I don’t have any pictures of the presentation, but I think the fourth girl in the third picture is Debby. Her hair has been cut differently but her tanline, facial features and figure look about the same to me. Also when you zoom in (always a good idea), you can just about make out Debby on the name card she’s holding. Anyway I’ve added another picture of that contestant together with a confirmed picture of Debby for people to draw their own conclusion.

It’s also noticeable that Bill Flesher has started refurbishing the site – the old Oakdale pool sign has disappeared and he’s erected a small stand adjacent to the pool. It’s obvious that work was at an early stage because there are still planks of timber propped up by the stonewall behind the girls.

For completeness I’ll post pictures of the other contestants in the next series of posts. Apologies for duplicate posting - credit should go to the original posters.

The girls have name cards with numbers on them, but it's difficult to make them out, so for the purposes of these posts I've numbered the contestants in the order that they appear in the lineup (previous post). So here we have contestants 1, 2, 5, 18&6, 6, 7(x2) and 8(x3).

It’s difficult to identify any confirmed Treehouse pageant pictures from 1974 apart from the first one (below), which I’d always assumed was of the Miss Nude Cosmos pageant and that there was no Miss USA competition that year. However after seeing Jennysathome’s post (below) of past winners of the completion, I’ve changed my mind: It seems there was a Miss USA pageant that year and the winner was Judy Walden, which makes more sense than Bill Flesher holding a completion under the same title as his predecessor (copyright laws).
So I believe that the first picture is actually of the Miss Nude USA 1974 pageant and also that the third girl from the left (excluding the rear end of one girl) is Judy. I’ve blown up pictures from Jennysathome’s post and of that contestant for comparison (the quality is poor so it’s not as obvious as before but the hair and nose and chin look the same to me).

This is the only picture I’ve ever seen of this event so if anyone has any more that can confirm or disprove my theory, it’ll be great to see them.

I have no photos of this event but these articles give some information. Judy's title took her to the Miss Nude World contest which she also won.

Thank you for sharing this information that brings back great memories. I never attended but always looked forward to the photos and coverage in the magazines and was astonished at how attractive the girls were back then. Later events evidently became more popular with professional dancers/strippers who wanted to add the title to get greater appearance fees. Holly Montana was my favorite, I think, if I remember the name correctly.

It was these events that encouraged me to get my wife to go to nudist resorts where, unfortunately, the ladies rarely met the standards you show here.

An article published on 28 August 1973 about Debby (or Debbie) winning the Miss Nude International Pageant. It also mentions the rodeo to be held starting on the date given by wobble27 - 22 Sep 1973.

Treehouse Contests – 1974 (1 of 4)
 

This competition is difficult to date: One (paid) website describes other pictures from this pageant as Miss Nude California 1974, which seems to be about the right year because two competitors (Nos. 6 & 16) also appeared in the Miss Nude Rodeo contest in 1973 and two (Nos. 1 & 19) may also have competed in Miss Nude USA 1976.

However judging by Jennysathome’s useful post (above), the Miss California entrant for that year’s Miss Nude World contest was the winner of a competition held annually at Olive Dell (Miss Bare State) and don’t think there were any Miss Nude California pageants at Treehouse before 1977. The same post also describes Bill Flesher’s plans for a “Dog Patch Nudeo” in July 1974 (Dog Patch is the home of L’il Abner, a popular strip cartoon at the time), so these pictures may be from that event or perhaps from 1975 or 1976 – I’d be interested to know if anyone has any further information.

It looks like most of these pictures were taken on the first day of the competition because there’s no line up. The first two (below) don’t show all of the competitors so I will add individual pictures of the contestants – contestant number 1 is first, most the others in follow-up posts…

Contestants 17, 19, 20 and 22 (no 18 or 21) and finally a poor quality picture that may be of the actual pageant (presumaby held on the second day of the event). The first four in the picture (from the left) look like contestants 1, 12, 16 and 2, but I'm not sure of the others. The backdrop could be a mock-up of Li'l Abner's cabin (from the Dog Patch title of the event - see the first post in this series), but perhaps someone can provide better information.

I'm not sure if this does come from the same event. The picture above comes from a very small photo in a magazine published in January 1981. There is no information given on where it comes from. The scan is one I made from my paper version. I'm not sure if it is any better but I made the version below today from an online pdf of the same magazine.

Treehouse Contests – 1975
 

Thanks to Jennysathome for the additional information and upgraded picture (post #633) and apologies for not crediting him with the original post of the last picture, but I couldn’t remember where I got it (obviously from his post on this site).

I have only found a few Treehouse pictures from 1975 and they all relate to Miss Nude USA: Pictures 4 and 5 in the post below and this one (credit: Sniffles77). If anyone has any more I would be grateful if they could post them.

Treehouse Contests – 1976
 

I can only find a single picture from one Treehouse pageant this year – Miss Nude USA 1976. The winner was Nona Montague who’s standing just to the right of the eagle backdrop wearing her competitor number round her waist rather than her neck.

Each year the winner of Miss Nude USA was entered into the Miss Nude World pageant held a month later at the Four Seasons resort in Hamilton, Ontario. Nona also won that and Sniffles77 has already posted three pictures of her from that competition (pics 1-3).
If anyone has more pictures of either competition, it would be great to see them.

The Treehouse Miss Nude USA winners in 1974, 1975 and 1976 all went on to the Miss Nude World pageant in Ontario and won.

Treehouse Pageants – 1977
 

In 1977 the organisers of the Miss USA pageant brought an injunction against Bill Flesher’s use of the name “Miss Nude USA”, which they thought was too close to their title and so he had to change the name. After much wrangling he settled on “Ms Nude International (USA)” similar to a title that he used in 1973.

The Fleshers had now built a stage along one side of the pool were able to erect various painted backdrops behind the contestants and the theme for the first Ms International (USA) 1977 was of a Roman (or Grecian) city scene. As was pointed out by Jennysathome, the competition was won by Jane Peters but pictures are hard to come by: Sniffles77 posted some small “photos-of-photos” a few years back (see link below), but I’ve never seen any of them full size.
I only have these three pictures which appear to come from this pageant – I would be grateful for any more!

Presumably Olive Dell had stopped running their Miss Bare State competitions for the title of Miss Nude California, because in October 1977 Treehouse held their first Miss Nude California pageant. It seems that the Flesher’s wanted to change the theme for this competition and a sort of tropical island backdrop was painted.

The pageant was won by Liz Caleca (Contestant 16 - second from the right in the second picture) a cheerleader who subsequently appeared in Pl*yb*y. There are three more pictures of Liz below – I’ll post what I have of the other contestants in a follow up post.
