hmm sounds like it could be very explicit? but then it would be for 18 plus surely?

anyone know of any shows coming to Edinburgh this year which have proper full frontal nudity, like Trilogy did? Not going to travel for hours to see a hidden nipple or side pussy in the dark, but I will make the trip if there is a seriously good show on, so if anyone knows of anything please let me know.

Judging by critics reaction and reviews this is only for people with a strong stomach. Evidently the sexual torture and bloodshed is very graphic. One comment that was made was that it was a 5star rating for the acting but a 2 star for the production as it was very explicit in it's portrayal.. Many people call it art but why is sex so often related with violence in productions like this?

Good point, but I think in the UK, mainstream/art theatres have 16+ as the max rating. I wonder if there is a strip club/porn stigma of saying 18+ ?

I relented about attending Cleansed and being in the circle looked away at a blank wall during the extremely strong and largely male on male violence (though obviously could hear the screaming). A few people only walked out. Any part of the central area of the circle should be fine to sit. The sides of the circle are 100% side on and though people weren't particularly leaning forward there may be issues with the view. The stalls will be mentioned later.

Most of the nudity is from Chanda and photos online show her as very attractive. However, & presumably for this production, she has put on quite a lot of weight. The first nudity is where she swaps clothes. She quickly strips fully naked on one side of the stage, walks across the stage, turns round and quickly puts the other clothes on. So the full nudity can be seen both sides of the theatre but is brief. She is topless for longer before she is fully clothed again.

The next nudity scene is a 'sex' scene between her and her late brother. For this both are behind a partition wall which has very large windows. She strips fully naked and the brother kisses a breast briefly (or appears to). She stands at the back fully naked looking towards the stage and him away to the side facing the other way when they have 'sex' which lasts maybe 30 seconds and involves her standing in the same place moving about a bit (that is, away from the other actor). Being in the circle full nudity (full bush) from Chanda was clear through this scene and both this and the previous scene were in good lighting. It does seem possible however that those in the stalls couldn't see the full nudity in this scene due to the partition wall. They will have seen the topless part of the nudity but maybe not the bottom part. Not having been in the stalls it isn't possible to advise either way about that but there is the warning.

The third nudity from Chanda is brief & more limited with her showing lower front & rear nudity whilst climbing over the partition wall and going onto a bed. She is more clothed than nude for this.

Connolly is in underwear as a dancer (so not overweight) but there is dark red lighting for these scenes. Towards the end she comes out of the dance booth (which doubles up as behind the partition wall for the other scenes). For this scene please note the lighting is a fair bit darker. She goes to the front of the stage and takes her top off showing relatively small breasts whilst in close contact with the male character. They proceed to have sex and he appears to kiss a breast. For this scene they are very close together so not much is seen and despite some of the language used she keeps her underpants on throughout. When finished she gets up topless and moves back to the rear of the stage. She either then leaves or it goes dark & she leaves; I don't quite recall.

Elsewhere someone has said those sitting in the front row of the stalls would be splattered with 'blood' so be warned about that also!
