It's pretty obvious that the magazine was bought by both naturists and non-naturists for the same reason - for the sexy pictures. Saying that naturism had absolutely nothing to do with sex always has seemed a little disingenuous to me. Charlie Simonds may be a naturist, but he has always been a glamour photographer and I'm sure he was under no illusions as to what the purpose of his pictures were.

By way of illustration, here's a shot of Charlie with one of his models. I think her name was Davina something. Appeared in H&E in 1987 or 88. They both seem to be enjoying themselves and Charlie looks a little... excited...

There was a short period (around 2011/12 I believe) when the current editor made the decision not to show anything except boobs in an attempt to persuade large retailers to stock the magazine somewhere other than the porn section. Yes Whsmith do stock it but the best way to get it is buy a copy from any Whsith shop that stiocks it and then if your really interested ask at a locakl news agent if they will order a copy for yopu.

Thats Maria Sheriff in the third last photo with Alison in a photo from a croquet playing scene which was also available on video. Maria was also another famous glamour model as well as being a genuine naturist.

Bit of an unusual one, this. As mentioned elsewhere, the ladies featured in Charlie's films come from all over - some are actual naturists, some are glamour models who may or may not be naturists, and some are porn stars. Although it's not often that one of the ladies in his films has been a party involved in an international manhunt and has been the subject of an appeal on Crimewatch. However, that is exactly what Kat Baillie was. I shit you not.
A quick Google search may help jog the memories of those who vaguely remember the story of the girl who ran off with her maths teacher back in April 2000, when she was 14. Years later (after returning home and after the man in question did 18 months for abduction), she seems to have drifted into the world of glamour modelling (and some hardcore stuff, though of the "CFNM" variety) eventually ending up on one of ol' Charlie's travelogues. As was usual at the time, she likely would have shown up in an issue of H&E from around the same time (mid-2000s)
As already mentioned, Google will tell you all you need to know about the lady in question, however, I don't think that Google turns up anything like this. Enjoy.

Ooh, look what I found...

Another of Charlie's models from the mid-90s. A mature lady named Christina, I believe.
If I recall correctly, she featured in one of Charlie's films around this time. At one point, she is having her body painted by an older fellow who was apparently the chair of some naturist association or other. She asks him why he got into bodypainting, and he replies something like "it's a good way to get my hands on some naked pretty young ladies". She smiles and rolls her eyes and says "you're not supposed to say that". An interesting prespective into the whole "naturism has nothing to do with sex" mantra, I think.

Dutch model who appeared in H&E, who also did a bit of full-on HC work around the same time. Still working, apparently.
