Naked for rain in Hindus
Hxxp.rediff.com/news/2005/jun/07nep.html
An old custom of worshipping and dancing naked.
This is from nepal a hindu state. Infact this was a norm in entire Hindu world of India.contary to general belief, body positivity and casual nudity was very common in india a century ago which still survives in remote villages in India and Nepal.south indian states had temples which have now been shut down where pligrims had to go nude. But islamic attacks and and then anglicisation in Victorian norms have eroded this culture , especially last century. Yesterday's girls and women in india used to wear saree only without bra and panty.
They used to bath and change in holy rivers. My granny and their friends used to remain topless . In 90s too , women were used to wear cotton hollow paijamas which were semi transparent.
Things have changed drastically in 3 decades. Modern schools have moved girls to educated career not for old traditions.copying US attires through TV,cinema also seen wide popularity of bra panty blouse and tight paijama. Sarees are gone or limited to old ladies.Electronic Media have proliferated which are making nudity an issue out of proportion a sex topic.modern girls are unattached to hindu customs. They don't bath in holy rivers. Those who do these feel inferior and bath in full clothes otherwise they would be shamed by their friends or classified as sl*ts by Media.
