Impressive, Majic. Have you been there? Are you familiar with the location, or just a detective? I don't think there are any clues in this one. I think you will have had to see the place to know where it is. It is next to a well-traveled highway with tourist attractions nearby....

That would be a beached riverboat saloon in Shartlesville, PA and no, I've never been there :D

Damn, I want to know how you got that. We have some pics that I think the location is too obscure to figure out, so I haven't posted them. I'll have to rethink that. I'm impressed.

***Never mind, Google is your friend. I just looked up beached riverboat. Still impressive, though. I'll try to get something more challenging.

We it took me about a half hour to hit on the right keywords. I wasn't sure but in the picture it looked like the boat wasn't in water and I figured that must be unusual.

Just keep posting pics, easy or hard, they are fantastic. They fit the topic and fill the space between VR2's photos he is trying to identify.

Great pics of Monique and great sleuthing by Majic!

Anyway, don't forget to go back and try and ID the unsolved pics, and here's another to locate:

edgewood124 04-02-2013 11:07 PM

That's at the San Antonio (Texas) Botanical Garden, looking south.

Here's what Crispus says: Generically, yes: that logo is for a mostly Canadian chain of stores (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brick ); specifically, not so much, at least not with that little info...If I knew it were BC (where I've seen at least a couple), I'd guess somewhere out on the Fraser River Delta, perhaps Richmond, based on the flat terrain and the power line structures.

Thanks Crispus!

How about this abandoned location? Both pics are from the same place, facing different directions.

Could it be here in Gatlinburg TN? Looks like the place has been torn down since the shoot.

If slate is right, can you re-post without the blurring on the sign?

Gatlinburg is correct. Monique is bummed that the place is gone now, we have a thing for abandoned places.
Here are the unblurred pics...

Thanks Monique, nobody does it like you, you're the best!

While we wait for Monique's next flash, make sure to go over the past pics, and see if any locations look familiar.

Here's another to locate:

I'm 99% sure it's not Vegas, as I have a good ideas as to what Vegas looks like, although I could be wrong.

I also don't see Reno there. I need further proof, and help. Please keep trying...

I couldn't find a cityscape to match the window view, but here's what I did find.
Pic 1 found in a deviantart gallery along with the same image in your post... Same woman, same glass of wine behind her and a comment from the poster that said "Strat hotel Vegas"
Pic 2 from a travel website showing the rooms at the Stratosphere Same pillow, same lamp, same headboard... etc.

My conclusion, Owner of devianart page is probably the original photog and was telling the truth about the location and even though i couldn't find a matching view I assume that this is indeed Vegas but the photographer didn't spring for the presumably more expensive room overlooking the famous landmarks, and this is the view out behind the strip. Happy to have someone prove a better sleuth than me though. Let me know what you think of my method.

Search darylp on deviantart he has a really nice gallery of this woman. One thing I notice is that in the photo by the window she does not appear to be wearing earrings but on the bed photo she has neon green ones. She may have just taken them off or these could be from different photo sets. He seems to like taking hotel room photos. I just couldn't match up that view on Google Earth from the Stratosphere.

The building that's partially obscured by the see-thru curtain is the L'Ocitaine apartments building.

Go to google maps, put yourself on streetview at the intersection of Charleston Blvd and S Las Vegas Blvd. Looking north you see the apartment building, looking south you see the Stratosphere hotel (from where the pic was taken - thanks to the clues from inside the room).

It's a good thing I left that 1% out there, because I was wrong, it is Las Vegas. Thanks to everyone who worked on this job, and also thanks to Crispus, who PM'd me this link:

Thanks to Crispus, who PM'd that this was the "Miss New York" Staten Island Ferry, which is part of the Arthur Kill Graveyard of Ship in Staten Island, NY.

This picture immediately brought to mind the 70s TV movie, "The Winged Colt", which was shown on ABC on Saturday mornings. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365936/

That being said, I don't recognize that statue at all, I am sure hoping someone else does. Nice horse pic, on Kentucky Derby day!
