What's the reason for not posting watermarked photos here?

A question for anyone who might know the answer. What is the origin of the use of bicycles at the Fremont solstice parade?

Many of the participants put a great deal of thought into their body art and spend a considerable amount of time applying paint and accessories. During the parade, those who walk, instead of bicycle, do a superior job of presenting themselves to the public. I'm puzzled why the vast majority don't walk. It's surprising the parade isn't strictly a walking event.

The origin of the nudity there is from the days when it was considered illegal and participants subject to arrest; it's a fairly long route so to decrease police opportunities to stop them (also before the days of bicycle cops!) they "streaked" bicyclically rather than bipedally. There were enough years like that for the wheeled tradition to take hold; finally, the naked ride is still not part of the sanctioned parade, and technically occurs before the official start, which is signaled by the banner-carriers, ahead of whom all cyclists are expected to remain (a safety rather than a moral issue).

Last parade pix from 2015

Fremont is really a combination streak and show. Some that want to show choose to walk instead of ride which of course does increase their exposure to the spectators. BTW, in my Fremont tribute thread, I opened things up by honoring the walkers in particular, because it takes a very special, bold type of woman to want to do that. Most girls choose the ride option though. Crispus did a good job of explaining why. Riders that want to show can still pose in Gaswork Park, or circle slowly. Many do that. But I could never imagine every woman walking the route. Like Crispus said, the nudity originated as a streak, and was not an established part of the parade. And I think today, most women sort of see it as a combination streak and show.

These four pics are of particular interest, but before I get into why, just want to say (again) THANK YOU to all the photographer who've shared they're AMAZING work. One of these days, I hope to make it out to Seattle for the solstice and when I do, rest assured, I will have my DSLR and will take hundreds and hundreds of shots that I'll share :) Anyhow, back to these 4 ladies...

#1 WOW. Despite the markered beard, sunglasses, hat and all-over body paint, you can tell that this chick is smoking hot. Somebody please say that there are lots more of her! I will go crazy if there are pics of her getting painted at the painting party!

#2 I've seen pics of her, but surprisingly, not too many of them. She looks stunning, almost statuesque.

#3 No body paint (nice!) and, as far as I can tell from this lone pic, she's bottomless as well as topless! There's got to be more of her (maybe I just can't tell which one she is because of the profile shot?). Just look at those tits...UNBELIEVABLE!

#4 I only included this pic because of the green rider with yellow gloves in the background. Probably most surprising of all to me is just how few photos of her I've seen -- she incredibly cute & fully nude, yet by my count, there's only one decent shot of her out there (plus a few more subpar ones like this). More would be infinitely appreciated.
