Is it true what I have heard....
When a guy admits how many lovers he has had it usually enhanced by around twice.
..And when a girl tells the number for her, we should multiply by 3 to get a truer figure?

My wife has had sex with about as many people as I have. Her total includes 12 men* and a few women. We've never talked about that particular incident, but she did look simultaneously surprised and relieved when I mention that I would have been okay with her having sex with him.

I'm always slightly baffled as to anyone (male or female) fixating on a 'sex number'. Personally, her 'number' is irrelevant and I've never asked or cared. Nor has she asked about mine. I'm guessing she doesn't care either, otherwise the question might have arisen long before now. I'm also baffled when I read some article about how this question arises in the early weeks/months of a relationship. I've never cared.

And if I was asked about mine, I'd be giving an honest number of *full* sex. I'd not be adding in the blow jobs or hand jobs I've had as contributing to the number of 'sexual partners'. I'd assume that she might do the same - her sex number would be confined to full, penetrative sex (vaginal or anal).

Ultimately, I don't care about the past. If she told me, unprompted, one day about her 'number', my view would be that 'I wasn't your first lover, just as long as I'm your last'.

I could be partner 1000 for all I care (I'm guessing her number, if I was pushed to hazard a guess, is high teens/low 20s) and it doesn't matter at all.
