Where did you get that number from? In any case, it's really shocking how cops STILL don't know it's not illegal for a woman to walk around topless in public. |

From the NY Times: Mermaid Forced to Cover Up Settles With City for $10,000 By THOMAS J. LUECK Published: April 23, 2003 In what one lawyer called a small victory for artistic freedom -- or at least for the bawdy traditions of the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island -- the city has agreed to settle a false arrest lawsuit filed by a woman who was detained at the 2001 parade because she exposed her breasts. The woman, Amy Gunderson, is to receive $10,000 under terms of the settlement. Ms. Gunderson was stopped by the police as she prepared to march wearing only a thong and with her skin covered in body paint. She was required to cover herself with a T-shirt and was issued a summons for ''exposure of a person,'' a charge later thrown out in Brooklyn criminal court. The settlement announced yesterday ''is a reminder to the police that toplessness is legal in the state of New York,'' said one of Ms. Gunderson's lawyers, the civil rights advocate Ronald L. Kuby, who said he represented her on a pro bono basis. |
"why cant women be topless, men can, stupid world"
I think it will be the worst mistake commited by women. Tits will lose their sacred magic and men will look at tits like tribal men look at their women's tits. Or at least. women's tits will be treated like men's tits. We will lose the thrill of Downblouse and cleavage , The moment when woman starts to remove her bra straps .. etc... Covering breasts is the only way to keep them precious. |

Perfectly legal to be topless

in NYC. you just can't behave in a lewd manner. In many European countries being topless in parks is legal-in Germany I always tried to have my lunch in the park-plus some areas in the park allow total nudity.
A lot of women protestors are getting arrested for breaking some other law. They are not getting arrested for being topless. However being totally naked is usually a violation of some sort. NYC actually had nude beaches. A group of people who were against nude beaches and I guess nudity in general brought their children to the nude beaches and then protested the fact their children were exposed to nudity. Everyone knew where the nude beaches were. You really couldn't stumble upon them but these sickos used their children to put pressure on the city to ban the nude beaches. The had to bring their kids to the nude beach and then complain. Well it worked, no more nude beaches in NYC. Also they are cracking down on topless and flashing at the NYC ST patrick's day in NYC. People are complianing that the parade should be more family friendly. Who are these sickos that are afraid of nudity. It is obvious that a nude person doesn't have a weapon. Thanks for the last post but it looks she's getting arrested for a D&D Drunk and disorderly I am including a random topless photo so this post has something to look at if you are not the type to read the article |
