I've been to that beach at least 100 times and it is a tough place to get to. There aren't many (none that I know of) activities at night there because the beach is at the bottom of a 300 foot cliff and the trail is challenging in day light. Since there are no lights on the beach or on the trail, I can't imagine anyone trying to get down there or stay down there after dark.
Are you sure that this nighttime group picture is while the girls are on Blacks Beach?

There's a paved service road that goes down to the south side of Black's Beach- from there you can walk north all the way to the state park section. I used the road all the time when I would take my yellow Lab to go swimming in the surf. I lived in the area many years ago attending UCSD and working at Scripps.

Yes, I've walked down that road too. Still, no lights, other than moonlight to illuminate anything on the beach.

It used to be at the base of the 'goat trail', or further north below the glider port and/or near the volleyball court. But I'm referencing the 'good old days', so someone that regularly records/photos there can probably be of more help. Maybe you can take some pictures yourself too?
