Preview Pics in Video threads

I was thinking of getting a One Click Pass. I was a member several years ago. I'm a bit frustrated in making my decision, though, because in browsing through the video threads I have noticed that a very large percentage of the preview pics are x'd out and won't load. This appears to ONLY occur in the video threads, not in the FREE photo sections. What is going on here? If I become a member will the preview pics appear? Thank You!

You shouldn't be seeing any red X's, even as a free member.

Can you post the URL's to some example threads where you are getting broken links to thumbnails?

I'll be happy to look into it.

In other posts within these threads, I can see some pics and others I can't.

I tried this in Internet Explorer AND Google Chrome with the same result.

I even tried going through a proxy website, and I still got red x's for the same pics.

I view your pic forums all the time and never have any problems there. Are you sure you haven't mistakenly stored some of these pics in the Members-Only-Accessible directories? Hmmm, yes: ok, I just copied/pasted the URL for one of the X's into my browser and it directed me to the page that starts "you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: ....... "

The good news is that the images aren't missing and should be displayed properly for One Click Pass members.
The bad news is that you may have found a bug.

I'll have a tech guy look into it this weekend. It seems like the images you cannot see are the vidcaps that are smaller than the default thumbnail size. So technically the forum software is trying to display the the full sized image in the post.

So to answer your question, this isn't be a problem for One Click Pass members. The images do exist.

Just out of curiosity, if you log out of the forums and then try to view those threads as a guest (not logged in) are the images still broken?

This definitely was a software bug. Unfortunately, it was a problem for two types of visitors. Guests who were not logged in and free member's who have posted over 2 MB of attachments were not seeing the video previews where the images were smaller than our default thumbnail size. Oddly, free members who posted less than 2 MB (or never posted) were not effected by this.

Members of the video forums have always been able to see all the preview images without any problems.

Now we've fixed it so the preview images in the video forums should display properly for all of our visitors. There should never be any red X's on the forums.
