So it would seem that Mod Winston has left the building. I know that he was an avid poster who was always careful to share only material new to OCC. I’m sure his content will be missed and OCC will be a little less original.

However, I appreciated him more as a moderator. We became “friends” after he gave me a two week, well deserved, timeout. Before that I thought him to be arrogant and quick on the trigger. Ultimately I realized that while my assessment was correct - he was also a really nice guy, cared a lot about OCC, and had a well-honed sense of humor. The mods here don’t get paid anything and trying to maintain some order must seem like herding cats at times.

Who knows if he’ll come back again - but for now this seemed like the best place to park a farewell.

I've been in touch with 'Seal and he assured me that he didn't leave for any issues related to moderating or really OCC at all. He has had cancer and it recently returned so he had to move 300 miles to be closer to his doctors and is now focused on defeating it. He said the tough part as far as OCC is concerned is that in the move he found all sorts of CD's and drives with material never seen on our site before. Good luck 'Seal!

Ditto. I sometimes found his moderation a bit heavy-handed, but I especially appreciated his efforts in the vintage polaroids and pics thread so that we weren't always seeing the same pics over, and over, and over again.

It never ceases to amaze me how Seal could constantly come up with new and original material. I hope you beat this illness, Seal, and come back - this place isn't the same without you.

I did wonder if he had been poorly again, and did ask about after him, but at least now we know the situation and that he is still battling strong. Thanks maxdelmax for letting us know. If anyone deserves a rest it is him, and though I shall miss our chats, I wish him well and a speedy recovery, with success both on and off the field. Get well soon 'Seal.
