Been too long since I posted to this thread. Here are a few stories. Hope you like them.

1. Ethiopia - This is a good one. A woman visits a tribe in Ethiopia and they are curious about her, feeling her hair, tugging her clothes, etc, so she decides to strip off and let them have a better look.

One of the things I do now that helps is put blogs I find interesting in an RSS reader. This makes it easier.

One way the searches come about is to see a story, like the one below on Salon.com.

It features two women that visited the shrines in the Tongo Hills and were told they had to remove their tops to enter the shrine. I really enjoyed that story even though the girls didn't remove their bras, but I wondered if there was such a place that women were expected to be topless. So I did some research and found that it is a real thing. I found a handful of stories that confirm this, but I'm sure there are a lot more out there. These days I wouldn't be surprised if the locals set up a live web cam.

It seems that a lot of the women who go there are Dutch, not sure why. If anyone out there has something to contribute on this topic, please post.

Cool. Apparently it's a major tourist spot. It seems like a lot of women visit when they are in Ghana.

One of the other places in the world where women are often expected to be topless is the islands of Yap in Micronesia. I've posted a few stories of women who dress in native clothing (topless) when they are sworn in to the Peace Corps. And on some of the more remote islands women (and men) are required to be topless.

There is a new book out about a family that became marooned on one of the islands and the woman went topless to try to adapt to their custom...
