question for computer techies, dvd drives.
I have an external cd burner that I want to put my internal dvd burner into so I can plug it into my computer via the usb connection. WIll that work, I seen some videos on youtube but the guys are using external hd drive boxes. I was hoping to just use my old cd burner instead. Sound like something that would work? Reason I'm doing this is because the new computer I bought is sata and my internal burner is not.

1, usb (external) 2, sata (internal cable) 3, IDE (internal cable) So you will need to decide which is the cheapest option, or see if any of your friends have any spare cables. I must admit though, i was not fully clued up on what the main thing is that your trying to achieve. If you have an external CR drive for USB, the cheapest and easiest, is just run the drive as it is intended, although you will suffer with a lack of data running through USB. CP. . |

I used to have a small external burner for a notepad which was a USB connection, but it was to small to actually fit inside a tower where a standard CDrom would go. But as for the cables, i cannot remember as i did not pay much attension to it. Can you take a photo of the back of the device ? cp. . |
