Do people working in a lab look at the pics they develop?

When I was in high school I worked for a photo finishing plant. We did all the drug store and department stores in the area, plus some of the photo studios and professional photographers. We weren’t allowed to process “pornographic” pictures (sex acts of any kind). How ever “tastefull” nudes or exposures were okay. Because the machines were all automatic - one bank of about 3-4 machines processed (developed) all the negatives were mounted on one big spool end to end and fed through another machine that processed all the positives (prints). The prints would come out on a big roll of paper (similar to the jumbo roll of toilet paper you see now in public washrooms). Because this was all automated “high tech” 40+ years ago the nudes and “porno” were all processed but were removed before the negatives and prints were sorted into the customers envelopes. I ran the machines that processed the big rolls of prints and, of course, I watched a lot of the prints come through because I had to be near by to splice the next roll of prints to the of the last roll of prints coming out of the developer.
For a high school student I saw ALOT naked people. I remember the first time I saw a woman masterbating with a coke bottle. I was shocked. It made an impression on me as I still remember to this day.
So to answer the op’s question yes several people would have seen the pictures we couldn’t release to the customer and yes the good ones had a spot on a wall in one of the dark rooms.

The answer is of course yes! They check for quality. I remember when I sent nudes of my first wife off for printing when the came back I said “I bet the guys in the photo lab have copies of these” she was mortified 😄😄😄 they were full nude but quite tame. I also remember looking through the window of a 24 hr photoshop you could see reels of pics. I saw some topless ones😛

Before digitals I always took a nude photo 35mm negative strip to the one hour photo mostly a nude in the pool photo or sun bathing on the deck,back then there were always 2 or 3 photo stores in the big mall so I would look for a teenaged kid working or an elderly guy,I would say that I want 2 of each made and that they are of my wife in the pool nude and they would always say no problem,whenI would come back I would say how did you make out with them,then I would open up the envelope and look and lay them out,but one time this personaround 20-25 years old zit faced,I asked for one 8 by 10" photo of my wife jumping out of the pool topless,when I went back there were tow photos of her hanging up drying in plain view behind the counter,I said I only wanted one,he said one diidn't come out good so he made two,,I got them both for the price of one,he was pissed cause one was his....

I used a website to print off some pictures of me and my ex as a present, they were all normal photos of us together, aside from one which was topless. When they arrive, there was a proof/index photo. It had smaller versions of all the photos, with the exception of one bigger one, wihch of course was the topless one. I have no doubt whoever was dealing with the print, thought it would be amusing to have that one as the larger photo on the index card. It was in the middle of them, so unless it was chosen at random, it wouldn't have been the first/last.

About 20 years ago had a friend who work at a camera shop with photo developing in a tourist town(Marco Island) in Florida. Worked in the same strip mall and would stop by and go thru the new additions to his collection of nudes. Being a vacation destination I think alot of people had them develop there rather than taking them home and having it done, were new additions almost daily

I've shared this story before, but many years ago a friend of mine used to tell me about how he took sexual pictures of his wife. I never saw them, even though I think he "accidentally" included one in a group of pics he showed me, but he recovered too quickly and grabbed the pic from me before I got a good look at it. I think he wanted me to see it.
Anyway, he told me where he took his film to be developed, and that there was a girl that both he and his wife went to school with that worked there. On one occasion when there were some x-rated pics of his wife on the film, the girl that worked at the lab commented on some of the other pics on the roll, discreetly letting him know that she'd seen the x-rated ones as well.

I too have shared this before but while my wife and I were dating we both worked at a grocery store. She worked in the 1 hour photo lab in the store. And this is the reason it was so hard to get her to pose for pictures. She knew other people would see the photos because she saw plenty of nudes doing her job. lol

The first sexy pictures she let me take were on our honeymoon and when we got home she made us take the pictures to the other side of town to lessen the risk of anyone knowing us.

Going back a while now, I took a holiday to tenerife with my then girlfriend, she was 18 and I 20 - it was the first "couple" holiday for both of us and she ended up going topless on the beach. I got a few snaps of her sitting there topless.

Of course this was pre phone and pre digital camera so when we got back we had to take the roll of film to be developed, we were both pretty embarrassed collecting it but dont lnow if anyone looked at them.

Anyway - fast forward 2 years and we broke up - I ended up with a couple of boxes of our stuff that she didn't want which included all the photos I took. I didnt look at them for a while and then one day decided I wanted to remind myself of those titties as it where, so I dug out the packet - went through to find them and realised she had taken them out !

Gutted.

Anyway, fast forward another 6 months and it comes to my attention that you can get copies of pictures from the negatives- for whatever reason I just did not know this. She obviously didnt either as bingo - when I held them up to the light I could see the missing pictures !

With zero shame and just a massive desire to see them titties I took just the strip or 2 I wanted to the local place and got copies made.

I still enjoy looking at them from time to time, although now they are scanned and stored in the cloud !!

This happened to my wife. She was dating a guy before me and let him take photos of her, mostly topless or ass shots, but with some explicit ones, according to her.

Anyway when they broke up she got the photos and destroyed them. Years later we were discussing this and I asked if she got the negatives. Apparently she didn’t understand either as she did not.

No idea if the ex made more copies, destroyed them, or what happened. Would have loved to seen them though.

Not that long ago, a gf and I were at a frat party... and over the course of the evening and lots of drinking... a lot of us ended up in the pool... a lot of bathing suits went south. I was taking pictures, and my gf ended up in the buff much to the delight of the greeks.

A few days later, ppl were wanting to see the pictures, I didnt want to have them on my phone or trust them to email, so I decided to have them printed out. I went to the local FoxFoto, near my home and decided to use their 1 hour service and wait for them. The girl who helped me said they were running behind and that she would charge the regular rate rather than the 1 hr rate, but it would take about 30 mins longer... I didnt want to wait 90 mins in a plastic chair, so I went and got a sandwich and came back about 75 mins later.

When I returned, there was a guy about 40 something staring at something in the window from out side. He saw me walking up and took off. I walked over to the window to see what he was looking at and Wow, here were all the pics of the party dropping off the conveyor of the printer into a bin. Im sure he got an eye full. But the journey continues. I go inside and ask if my prints are ready. Two girls working the shop, both around my age. (22) The one at the counter goes over to see if they have been sleeved and ready. She looks back at me and sees the top photo and says "No wonder you were in a hurry to see them", with a big smirk on her face. The one working the machine, tells the other girl... "Have a look at them" OMG!! So she spreads several of 20 prints on the counter. So the one working the machine comes to the counter. She says.."Those are acutally pretty tame. We get much worse." Then the older guy comes back and into the shop, and the prints are all over the counter. No doubt he got a better look.

So after he left they wanted to know the story of how I got them. I gave a brief tale. Then the first girl asked if she could make a copy of them for her brother. What was this place? lol I obviously said no. But I wonder if there may indeed be other copies they made in my absence. But like you Guys, it was a royal turn on to know that she was being seen by strangers .. seeing the intensity of that guy staring at the pics through the window was wild.. I let only a handful of people see them, it was no where near as hot as all that happened at the shop... thanks for an exciting day FoxFoto lol
