Why do I get....
this error everytime I try and watch a vid clip with Windows Media Player?
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found. |

so how do i turn my media player off of being my default?

You don't have to use the Divx player to play Divx encoded files. Once the Divx codec is installed onto your PC Media Player will use it to play all of your Divx files.
To "turn off" Media Player from being default you can go to Tools-->Options, select the "File Types" tab, uncheck AVI (if you want to use another player to play the Divx files). From this point on MP would not be the default player for any .avi movie files - Divx encoded or otherwise. Uncheck any other file type you don't want MP to be the default. |
