Default Macintosh

I have a Mac, does anyone know how to make vidcaps? Also, Windows Media Player clips never seem to have as good resolution as Quicktime clips.

Thanks

Default vid caps on mac os x

hey there,

the easiest way to make vid caps on macs is to use the screen shot function.

1) play the video as normal. When you get to the scene you want to capture, pause it.
2) Hit the keys: cmd(apple)+shift+4
3) your cursor will change into cross hairs
4) click the cursor in the upper left corner of the frame, then drag to the lower right corner
5) release the mouse, and a .pdf of what you just took a snapshot of will appear on your desktop
6) use a utility like quick image (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11532) to convert the .pdf into .jpg

i use the method above to make my vid caps, and it works quite well.

hugs,

marie

I found a piece of freeware that works just like the Mac's own screenshot function, but eliminates the step of having to convert from pdf to jpg. It's called SnapNDrag. You do the screen shot the same way, but you can set it to create the image as a jpg file. Then just drag it from the SnapNDrag window to your desktop or wherever you want.

I forget where I got it, but I'm sure you can find it using Google, which is how I discovered it in the first place

Default video cap

I use drunkgirl's method and it works very well.
I convert the image to jpeg through photoshop.
It takes a little time but you get a pretty good image.
