Question about WMP 11
I just downloaded Windows Media Player 11. When a clip is played there is no indication of how long it is (at least I can't figure out how to display the total length). Can anyone help me find out how to do it?
Thanks, Gawker |

I've noticed the same thing. I've been told there is a way, just can't find it. will keep trying tho.

This is one of the most frustrating aspects of WMP-11 but at least it's a lot more stable than it's predecessor when switching formats from .avi to .wma or .mpeg and no longer freezes up.

I just downloaded the update myself a couple minutes ago, and here's how you do it:
You just left click once on the time display at the bottom left corner. This will switch it over to a time ratio, displaying the full time of the file. Alternatively, you could just "Show List Pane", which is in the "Now Playing" menu. This shows you the full time of the file as well. Fango

Thank you, Fango -- don't ever go from "semi-retired" to "fully-retired". I may need help again.

Just out of interest .... if I upgraded to wmp 11 would I have to go and get all the various codecs again?
Is 11 that much better ? Thanks for any advice. |

one problem with WMP11 is that you have to validate your copy of windows to make sure its original, not that any of us would have copied versions
