Are there minimum thresholds for new users?

I'm just curious, is there a minimum post threshold I've yet to hit or is there some other reason my posts take hours to appear, if they appear at all?

I know early on I was ignorantly posting identical content in two separate areas, but I stopped that a while ago. It's been 7 hours since I've attempted to post to a thread and someone else came in a couple hours ago and posted the same thing I tried to post. So now I'm thinking to myself if it's even worth the effort anymore if other people are able to post freely since chances are my post will be duplicated.

Also, no one has ever messaged me about posting infractions, I just noticed some of my previous posts deleted and eventually put 2 + 2 together. If I'm doing something wrong or if I'm on some sort of probation, it'd be nice to know so I can act accordingly.

I think this is a wonderful site and I'm trying to contribute, but I feel like the site doesn't want me to.

At some point in the early hours of today, my post did finally go through. Still, if there is something I should be doing that I'm not (or vice versa), it'd be nice to know.

The key, frustrating as it has proven to be for many more than just you, is that part of the threshold is the requirement for attached, not merely linked, photos and/or videos, which has kept people who are posting only links in a kind of purgatory, resulting in situations like what happened with that post you referred to: a post being delayed, but then appearing in the thread as though it had happened when you submitted it, thus making it seem that someone else posted a duplicate answer after yours; actually that "second" post was visible in the thread before yours, despite what the time stamp suggests...

I do try to attach screenshots to my posts uploaded from my computer, so hopefully that'll help with the threshold. Thanks.
