OK, so here is the first of my opinions about a UK WNBR.

We've had 2 so far in this country, 4 men turned up for Portsmouth and Canterbury was an equal disaster but now we are into the season proper and the next 10 days or so should be great but probably not in Southampton.

For a successful ride lots of hard work needs to be done, one of them is publicity and nowadays it's got to be local stuff, Facebook, Twitter and the main page and plenty of online engagement. Southampton has failed on most of these accounts.

In the past it has been quite good so I could be wrong, unless you are very local IMHO it is not worth the journey.

Bristol on Saturday, my opinions up next if any one is interested.

Bristol could be OK, as it has a history of good female attendance, our famous pair of riders started out in Bristol three years ago and now travel to London and Brighton to get naked. If only it was on Sunday though, the sun will be out and it will actually be warm for a change. Just have to hope the overcast skies forecast for Saturday don't put people off too much

I'm not far from Southampton and the sun is occasionally breaking through the cloud and it's not too cold either, similar forecast for Bristol and a super hot and sunny day on Sunday........ for Cardiff. In 2015 it gave us some of the best girls and great photos.......could be the best one again this year unless next week's forecast for the two big rides (London and Brighton) improves!

Though the forecasts for London and Brighton seem to have been very changeable from what I've seen recently...! As I recall last year the number of attendees at the large rides went exponential in the week before the ride. For the record- Bristol's route tomorrow has been changed to avoid an anti-immigrant/anti-fascist protest on College Green- thought it might be worth mentioning. The revised route is on FB.

Another chilly ride - this is the problem with evening events. Again not great weather in June!! For some reason the number of women attending each year is dropping. 3 lovely ladies this year but only ONE brave enough to strip.
Hopefully Bristol today will be a warmer ride - not a good look with your cock shrivelled!!

The weather doesn't make a whole lot of difference to the number of people who ride, so long as it's not absolutely horrific. More people rode in Brighton under gloomy skies last year than took part in the gloriously sunny 2014 ride. The weather was about perfect in Canterbury last week and barely 20 people turned up. Sunshine in Southampton yesterday evening and the ride consisted of '20-30 old men.'

The reason for the almost entirely male smaller rides is obvious - women feel intimidated by the inevitable gawpers. Whereas at the bigger rides, there's safety in numbers and anyone overstepping the mark will quickly be dealt with usually.

Smaller rides are increasingly less successful to a point where most are now a waste of time.
