Well, the name comes from King Candaules, who exposed his wife to his servant. It didn't end well for the King.

But the rest, about no one wanting to see the male exhibitionist, pretty much rings true. I'd be willing to be more adventurous if I was more likely to get approval rather than laughed at, shamed, or arrested.

I think that's def true for some people, but I have no desire for people to watch me unless they are at my place or theirs and we're going to have sex.
