I hope no one minds me telling this story from my youth again.

My first partner and I lived in a house very close to a main road. It was a typical UK pre-war semi with big bay windows to the front for the lounge and main bedroom. The ground level of the house was a few feet below the level of the road. This meant that anybody standing at the bus stop opposite could see straight into our bedroom.
