This was, without a doubt, the very best player I ever had. However, I have no idea where to find it. None of the AVI codec or anythinig of that nature is helping me view .avi files, which, for the most part, I can not play whatsoever.

If anyone can assist me, please post a link here or PM me. I'd really appreciate it. If I have to run something in "Windows XP Mode" that's fine, I have a version of Windows 7 that allows me to do that. Thank you!!
As far as codecs go, you're probably going to want to download the K-Lite Codec Pack to get all of the ones you really need: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm. Once you have that downloaded, you should be able to play most videos with no problem. For older versions of Windows Media Player, try here: http://www.oldversion.com/Windows-Media-Player.html

You can also try VLC Media Player, which a lot of people recommend, though I personally dislike the program: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
