There are many plug-ins for Firefox that can download from Vimeo, YouTube, etc. VideoDownloadHelper is a good example. It puts a small icon on your toolbar, which you click when you want to download the video on the page. You can get it here: www.downloadhelper.net/

But most of the time, I prefer to use 4K Video Downloader, which runs as a separate little program on the desktop. You just copy the URL of the page the video is on and paste it to the 4KVD window and it will download in the background as you do other things, and it doesn't clutter up Firefox. The only downside is that with the free version, you can only download one video at a time. It works very well with Vimeo, YouTube and many other video sites.
