email Notification not working

SUBSCRIPTIONS are not working.................

We have temporarily suspended sending out e-mails about member's subscribed threads because too many members have outdated/invalid e-mail addresses that are bouncing back.

Everyone should check their profile and make sure they have a current e-mail address listed.

Mine is valid. Do I do something to turn them back on?

So are we ever going to get them back?

It may take a couple of weeks or longer before we resume sending these e-mails.

Unfortunately too many members have inactive (expired) e-mail addresses associated with their profiles. This makes it difficult and sometimes impossible for us to offer them support or the ability to reset their password.

At the moment we are still making it optional for people to voluntarily update their profile.

Eventually, it will become mandatory. Member's who haven't confirmed their contact details will temporarily loose access to the forums until they update their profile with valid information.

Unfortunately, this may cause a bit of a disruption for some who registered years ago and may have forgotten their password or lost access to the e-mail address used at the time of registration. We are aiming to make this process as seamless as possible.

Thanks for the update. I, too, am missing the subscription notifications, and it made me go through my subscriptions and delete about 7 that I was just too lazy to clean up before. I also went through the profile update, and everything was current, so I look forward to your email/general broadcast when you do get your updates and resume the subscription service. I can do it by hand right now, so I'm not totally cut off, just minorly inconvenienced. Glad you (admins) aren't screaming about the crash, just going about your work to get everything back on track. Thanks for the site, it's brilliant!
