saw you name on the topless beach thread...
It caused me think of the Le Galleon Hotel in St. Martin, West Indies. (I think it might be spelled differently)
But in the 1970s & '80s, that hotel was the beginnings of topless sunbathing in the Caribbean, and path from there led to the now famous Orient Beach. Back then, it was deserted and undeveloped.
It was the hotel guests (pilots and stewardesses) who began this trend on St. Martin, and later the entire Caribbean. It has since been torn down, but the site is still a nice family beach. But a few hundred yards away, Orient Beach prospers.
